Job Offer
Acceptance Letter
If you have followed the advice on these pages, then you'll
probably be receiving a job offer letter sometime soon!
It's only common courtesy that you should write your
acceptance rather than simply making a telephone call.
Something simple will usually suffice, such as the following
example.
Dear Mr / Mrs Name,
Thank you for your letter offering me the position
of [JOB TITLE] with [COMPANY NAME].
I was delighted to receive the offer and am writing
to confirm that I will be accepting and that I will
able to commence my emloyment on [START DATE].
I look forward to receiving a formal contract of
employment confirming the terms contained in the
offer and await your instructions concerning
induction.
Yours sincerely,
[YOUR NAME] |

It's important to do this because so many job applicants
simply don't bother!
Employers make offers of employment and some people simply
respond at all, leaving the employer to wonder whether their
newest employee is actually going to join them.
This is totally unacceptable, but is far more common than
you might think.
At this stage of the process, you should really be setting a
strong example and creating a good impression - if you have
future promotions and pay rises in mind.
In any business or social environment, nobody ever failed
because they had good manners!
